Artist Statement:
My abstract landscapes capture the peaceful energy of nature. The horizon line grounds me to the present moment, inviting an appreciation of my surroundings and space to calm my busy mind. My work embodies this serene experience through an exploration of complementary colors that create contrast where sky meets earth or water.
Through different series, I’ve explored softening and presence, healing through playfulness, loosening up to break free of constraints, and adding tactile mixed media elements to feel more grounded. Layers of color create depth, visual texture, and contrast, resulting in my unique view of the world around me. My work is an invitation to pause, reflect, and connect.

Interview
What inspires your art practice and keeps you motivated?
My art is inspired by the beauty of nature and the deep connection I feel to the landscape. What drives me is sharing that beauty and connection with others, bringing peace and intrigue. I love to explore different themes and tell stories through my different bodies of work. I stay motivated by making time for play and keeping an open mind to see how my work evolves.
How does your mission as an artist influence the work you create?
My goal is to bring peacefulness and help calm the busy mind through a connection to nature. Staring off into the horizon can feel calming and inspiring, and I capture what I see and feel in my own version of the abstract landscape. Peacefulness shines through my paintings in transparent layers of color and soft brush strokes, while the groundedness and wisdom of the land can be felt in my mixed media pieces with texture along the horizon line.
Can you share a key part of your creative process that helps you stay focused?
When working on a new series, I journal about the feeling and the story I want to embody in the series. My creative process is to have multiple paintings in progress at any given time. Having a clear story and meaning behind the series and working on several pieces at once allows me to stay focused on the goal and create a cohesive body of work.
What mindset tip do you rely on to overcome challenges in your art career?
When facing challenges, I come back to my intuition and deep certainty that I am living my purpose.
How do you hope your art impacts the world or your community?
I hope to encourage creativity, bring peace and joy, and help others see the beauty of the world through my lens.
