My art combines the vibrant energy of urban settings with the raw essence of wildlife. Drawing inspiration from the street art seen around Shoreditch, London, and South West England, I explore the interplay between humans and nature, using bright colours and layered textures to forge the connection between people and the natural world. My pieces highlight the beauty and resilience that endure amidst urbanization. In addition to my studio practice, I aim to bring nature into overlooked spaces through my large-scale murals. My work highlights the beauty, resilience, and harmony of the natural world while reimagining neglected urban settings as places of vitality and life.

In addition to painting, I create high-fire ceramic sculptures that tell stories of endurance and adaptation, incorporating 24k gold to symbolize nature's triumphs over adversity. This technique celebrates the beauty of these works while underscoring themes of survival and transformation.

From my street art and murals to sculpture and painting, my work examines narrative, aiming to leave a lasting impression of the deep bond between humanity and the wild. Each work has a soul that connects us, and this inspires a deep compassion for the natural world.

Passionate about supporting young artists, I hold an MA in Art Education alongside degrees in Art History and Teaching. I am the founder of Meraki Art School, Exeter, a center dedicated to supporting young artists and fostering fresh creative voices.

Interview

What inspires your art practice and keeps you motivated?
My art practice is inspired by nature and the beautiful things I see around me. The desire to create joyful spaces that celebrate nature and bring positivity to otherwise empty or dull environments keeps me motivated. Knowing that my art can make a difference in people's lives and contribute to environmental awareness drives me to keep pushing.

How does your mission as an artist influence the work you create?
My mission is to live harmoniously alongside animals and nature, fostering love and compassion while supporting species in this changing world we live in. Every piece I create aims to reflect the importance of reconnecting with nature and building compassion.

Can you share a key part of your creative process that helps you stay focused?
A crucial part of my creative process is immersing myself in the environment. Whether it's spending time in nature, observing wildlife, or engaging with the community, these experiences ground my work and provide clarity. I have always found creating a balance between my work as an artist and teacher to be challenging but have found, over time, that one can enhance the other and give you a fresh way of thinking.

What mindset tip do you rely on to overcome challenges in your art career?
I embrace persistence and adaptability. Challenges are inevitable, but I remind myself that each obstacle is an opportunity to learn and grow. I focus on the joy of creating and the positive impact my work can have, which helps me push through difficulties.

How do you hope your art impacts the world or your community?
I hope my art brings a sense of joy and connection to the natural world, inspiring others to appreciate and protect it. By transforming spaces with murals that celebrate local wildlife and natural beauty, I aim to create environments that uplift and engage the community. Ultimately, I want my art to foster a deeper understanding of our relationship with nature and encourage actions that support environmental sustainability.
