About:
This work is a calling to bridge art and Spirit, to reflect our synergistic connections to one another, and to work together to raise the vibration of the planet through unity consciousness. As a disabled person with a fierce connection to Spirit, I convey energetic frequencies through color and symbolism. I paint abstract portraits using chakra colors, with hair as a metaphor for our immeasurable connections to one another.
Interview
What inspires your art practice and keeps you motivated?
I create art only when I am feeling truly inspired. This keeps me engaged and very open to new energies or insights. I choose not to force the energy when it isn’t there naturally. My mission as an artist is to be authentic, which means that my work mustn’t be forced.
How does your mission as an artist influence the work you create?
Which leads to excitement in the process, the unknowing of what is next, or what may evolve. This excitement plays a huge role in staying focused, because it is that thrill of the unknown that keeps me going!
Can you share a key part of your creative process that helps you stay focused?
I believe for any creative person patience is truly a virtue. Self-love and compassion are key in maintaining balance in a creative pursuit. We can be very hard on ourselves, so developing grace is a healing attribute that can also create more meaningful works of art.
What mindset tip do you rely on to overcome challenges in your art career?
I have always said that we, as a collective, are always connected. We are ‘one’ energy. On that quantum level, I know we can harness our innate goodness and love to uplift the frequency of the planet and all of its beings. Art can inspire, uplift, speak, heal, and also transfer the positive energy you put into it.
How do you hope your art impacts the world or your community?
Together, we can, in fact, heal the world. The ripple effect is always occurring, and our every intention is recorded and amplified. We are all artists in one way or another, singing in harmony with one another. That is one of the true gifts of being human.
