Robin BB Griffin
Robin Griffin is a 2008 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a degree in Communications Media with a focus on Special Events. She is a free-thinking and divergent professional who creates bold, intuitive abstract art designed to stimulate the mind, body, and soul. Robin combines her years as a mixologist and professional leader in the fast-paced entertainment and hospitality industries to display her unique brand of expressionism in her paintings and other artistic forms.
Her passion for the arts began as a child at the age of four when she studied creative movement and ballet at Point Park College. By the age of five, she performed with Point Park’s ballet company in a traveling Christmas performance of The Nutcracker Suite at local Southwest Pennsylvania theaters.
Throughout her childhood, Robin enjoyed acting and music. By sixth grade, she played the flute and composed original music in a local arts program with La Roche College called Merging with the Classics. She also developed a passion for travel at a young age. By the time she was twelve, she had traveled the East Coast and the Caribbean with her working mother, and by sixteen, she worked for a private travel agency.
Today, Robin works primarily in the heart of Pittsburgh’s cultural district, anticipating and exceeding the needs of clients. She methodically delivers personalized services to facilitate luxury corporate meeting events as well as private special events. Over the years, she has gained invaluable first-hand experience executing special events, which inspires her to build upon her inherent passion for providing purposeful connections. Her personal philosophy, love for nature, and appreciation for the beautifully odd and imperfect motivate her and translate into all aspects of her work.
Robin supports the creative arts to maintain her mental wellness and a healthy, holistic life balance. She now channels her energy into designing and painting colorful artworks. Her interests in self-development and social psychology enhance her art experience and expression.
Robin's goal is to help others connect and experience more life by transporting individuals into spaces where they can simply be, freely think, feel, escape, or process contemplative thoughts of the conscious and subconscious. Her work revolves around themes of exploring the universe, wonder, nature, identity, divinity, symbolism, and the human connection to our surroundings. Through her art, she strives to provide solace for the mind, body, spirit, and soul, evoking powerful emotions and encouraging viewers to reflect on their own experiences and beliefs.
