What inspires your art practice and keeps you motivated?

I am inspired to paint in an imaginative realism style through my lifelong love of fantasy books, fairy tales, and storytelling. Dreaming of future collections and the desire to spark curiosity and imagination in others helps keep me motivated.

How does your mission as an artist influence the work you create?

I'm always thinking of new ideas to paint and enjoying practicing new oil painting techniques in my current work. Much of my art melds the natural world with that of imagination, and I strive for viewers to tap into their creative side and become immersed in the potential narratives behind my pieces, while also fostering a connection with nature.

Can you share a key part of your creative process that helps you stay focused?
My passion for developing my skills as an imaginative realist oil painter keeps me focused on creating art and building a larger body of work.

What mindset tip do you rely on to overcome challenges in your art career?
A mindset that I've had to really hone as a creative entrepreneur and artist is realizing that setbacks and rejection are simply learning opportunities to grow from.

How do you hope your art impacts the world or your community?
I hope that my art helps others reignite that childhood spark of imagination and storytelling that some people have distanced themselves from as adults. I believe that stories bring together communities, and inspiring creativity helps make the world a better and brighter place for everyone.
